The Strange Case of Dr. Ketan Desai

This post, like the previous one, is about a doctor.

Many years ago, in 2001 to be precise, the Delhi High Court had found Dr. Ketan Desai, President of the Medical Council of India (MCI), guilty of corruption and called the MCI “a den of corruption.” Strong words indeed! Dr. Desai was forced to resign his position on the Selection Committee of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

No matter; Dr. Desai is nothing if not a fighter. He clawed his way back, and with the help of his powerful friends, once again reclaimed the top post of the MCI (and even of the IMA).
