A “Limerick” for Sepia Mutiny

Sepia Mutiny is a popular Web site on desi topics, apparently run by American desis. In their FAQ, they explain how they arrived at the name Sepia Mutiny:

“It’s a pun that combines the name of the first widespread rebellion against the British Raj with sepia …”

This is what Cochin Blogger has to say to Sepia Mutiny:

Why are you calling the First Indian War of Independence a mutiny?

You’ve got your pun alright, but you know it’s not even remotely funny.

By appropriating the hackneyed colonial trope,

You’ve pleased the Brits no end, you silly goat;

But are a pun and the Anglo pat on your back worth the stain on our history?

Seriously, I believe a pun needs no justification. Relax, Sepia Mutiny, I’m just pulling your leg. 🙂
