The biggest festival in Kerala, Onam, is just two days away. The glittering shops are packed with swarms of shoppers. This is also a time for cultural and artistic performances. One of these is pullikali, which translates to “tiger play.” I met this pullikali performer on the road, and he was kind enough to strike a pose for me.
He was accompanied by an assistant who passed the hat around. Below, the tiger waylays shoppesterone-crazed shoppers.
