Pullepady Bridge at Dusk

A friend who was in the city after three years observed that the traffic on the roads seemed to have increased threefold. The infrastructure to handle this volume of vehicles on the road is lacking. The only positive development in many years for Cochin residents has been the opening of the long-delayed Pullepady railway over bridge in June. I’m a direct beneficiary of this bridge, as I’m able to avoid Banerjee Road with its gridlocks whenever I take an auto to work.

Here is a shot I took of the bridge from the pillion of my brother-in-law’s speeding bike. It was dusk and the dark clouds bunched ominously overhead threatened rain, but there was just enough light, as it turned out, for an atmospheric photograph.

Shot from a speeding bike with a Canon A540 in “Kids & Pets” mode (to compensate for movement).
