  1. I used to get very nervous, watching watchmakers. All that fiddling with tiny fragments. Of course, if I had a fancy magnifier in my eye or on my head, it might be another matter.

    In the days of currency control in Israel, a money-changer would sit in an unmarked shoplet, with a watch in the window. “What else should I put there?”
