Pickpocket Attempts Suicide with a Head Butt

I read a report in yesterday’s newspaper (Pickpocket Held) that made me laugh. It began innocuously enough. A pickpocket, Kannan (age: 20) of Thoppumpady, was arrested during the course of practicing his profession. So far, so good. Then came this unexpected conclusion to the report:

The Central Police have also registered a case for attempting to commit suicide against him after he tried to smash the screen of the computer at the police station using his head.

My diagnosis is pent-up frustration and rage, not attempted suicide, but what do I know?

This sounds like something straight out of Kafka. 🙂

  1. We live in Kafkaesque times; this is but one sign.

Ethics and morals have declined worldwide, yet the vast majority of the populace of each country expects a selfless national leader who will lead them to better-land.

How is this possible, when a country’s leader is, in a sense, nothing but a reflection of the majority of the population, a morally bankrupt majority.
