A few days ago I spotted this striking couple putting up a poster; the boy was immersed in the affixing operation, but the girl looked around nervously and self-consciously. I managed to take this picture when she wasn’t looking back (a small, unobtrusive camera goes a long way in street photography).
And here is their handiwork! Anyone interested in a tantric musical extravaganza on St. Valentine’s Day, complete with a Reiki Master imported from Australia, Yogi Linda? It’s organized by the Nirvana School of Spiritualism. In some cities and small towns, fundamentalists of all stripes crawl out of the woodwork on St. Valentine’s Day and target young couples, whom they accuse of wallowing in decadent Western morality. One wonders what they’d make of the Nirvana School of Spiritualism’s innovative blend of East and West. 🙂
And is the aforementioned striking couple wearing tantric clothes? I can imagine them undulating on the dance floor in those clothes, alright. At any rate, they look like each other’s Valentines. It’s at times like this that this writer keenly feels his advancing years. 🙂
There are no spiritual airs about this celebration, though; enjoy the music, eat, drink, and be merry.
