An Afghan Day in Cochin

The place: The Fort Kochi jetty.

The people: Afghans, who’d come to Cochin to take part in the Asian Kurash Championship held in December. I requested a photo, and they immediately obliged, arraying themselves in ascending order of hulkiness.

Coincidentally enough, it wasn’t long before I met another Afghan in Fort Kochi.

This is Amanullah Mojadidi, an Afghan artist who was exhibiting at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Here is more about him and his project:

And with that my Afghan day, kicked off by a chance encounter on the Fort Kochi jetty, came to an end.
