Beating the Heat in Sunny Cochin

Yes, we’re well into summer, and it’s like a furnace outside. Two failed monsoons in quick succession have taken Kerala to the brink of drought. The past few days have seen cloudy skies and scattered showers, but no sustained rainfall — and rain is what Kerala desperately needs now as water levels in dams and reservoirs plunge to record lows and major rivers dry up.

This tourist has divested himself of all but the bare essentials to combat the heat. Our hero looks completely at ease, but should the heat still bother him, he could trade those leggings for a mundu or its close cousin, the lungi.
