The Mosque by the Highway at Kaloor

Standing in the waiting area outside an operation theater in a hospital on the eighth floor, I idly glanced out of the window and saw — this.

I had to shoot the scene through a grimy window, but you can’t tell, can you? The colors may be gaudy, but this mosque, with its pleasing symmetry, brightens up the drab street scene outside and provides a welcome distraction for the hospital visitor.

Especially when life and death scenes are being played out behind closed doors while one waits.
